Tip o' My Brain

Who is this Brent Larson?

I’m Brent Larson, which you probably already figured out, and this is my first real blog. I guess this is the part where I tell you about myself, so here goes. I’d rather set this up as a category list, so I don’t have large blocks of text that you have to wade through.

Age: late-30s

Where I live: Orlando, Florida

Where I’m from: My dad was in the military when I was growing up, so I’ve lived all over. But I consider myself more from Arizona, where I graduated high school and college, than anywhere else.

Where I went to school: Northern Arizona University, in beautiful Flagstaff

Marital Status: yup

Occupation: I’m a filmmaker with the JESUS Film New Strategy group, Broken Phonebooth Productions. Specifically, I’m a screenwriter/producer/snack procurer.

Belief system: I’m a follower of Jesus Christ.

Favorite movie: I’ve got about five of ’em. And that’s because I’m usually forgetting one or two… But I’ve recently come to a decision–at the top of the list–Superman the Movie.

Favorite TV: Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars, Lost, 24

TV I like a lot: Supernatural

TV I watch but I sure wish was better: Smallville

My favorite TV show ever:  Angel (NOT Touched by an Angel.  Angel didn’t touch people–he usually smacked ’em around a few times.  Then he’d brood, then maybe have some pigs blood.)

Videogames?: Yup.  Lifelong (so far) Nintendo guy.

Why Nintendo?: If you’ve ever played Legend of Zelda you’d know.

Favorite website: http://www.tvsquad.com

Favorite music: I’m an unapologetic Def Leppard fan. Hey, you in the back, stop that laughing!! I also love soundtracks.

Favorite books (fiction): I love, in no particular order, Madeline L’Engle’s Time Trilogy, Stephen King’s The Stand, The Lord of the Rings. I’ll update you on some more when I read them.

Favorite books (nonfiction): The Bible (yes, I like it), John Eldridge’s Wild At Heart and Waking the Dead, Larry Crabb’s Shattered Dreams. Also like Don Miller’s Blue Like Jazz.

Dream vacation: Caribbean Cruise.  I’ve done it a few times.  It’s surprisingly affordable if you live in Florida. I love it because you’re pretty much unreachable by civilization, which I like most of the time but not on vacation (I say this in case civilization has tender feelings right now).

  4. Hi Brent’n’Darc!
I still haven’t unpacked and still haven’t found your email address.. I am a disorganized mess. How are you two doing? How is Dexter? Sylv had some more bad news from home so she has gone back to England leaving me and Zoe to take care of ourselves. Good news, weather has been above zero since we got back…you know what that means.. short wearing weather 🙂
    xoxo
